What is the ruling on men and women dancing at weddings, and does it entail a legal punishment?

There is no harm in men dancing, provided it is free from effeminacy or imitating women's actions. This is because, in such a case, it is merely a set of movements. It has been authentically reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stood for 'Aisha while she watched the Ethiopians dance.
