What is the meaning of the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "Except for one who is confident in his deeds"?

The phrase "except if he is confident in his عمل (deed/work)" was mentioned in a hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad. This chain of narration includes Ibn Lahī'ah, who had a poor memory and was prone to mixing up narrations. The hadith has been narrated through other chains from Abu Hurairah and other Companions, all of which do not include this addition. Therefore, this addition is considered Munkar (rejected) and unestablished, and thus, it holds no evidentiary weight.
