Why do the Qur'anic verses describe Paradise with worldly promises such as: eating, drinking, silk, and brocade?

It is a common misconception that the bliss of Paradise is solely physical. Allah, glorified be He, entices believers to it with both its physical and spiritual aspects. In Paradise, there will be the remembrance of Allah, His glorification, and His praise. There will also be a recollection of His favor upon them. Their greatest bliss will be their proximity to Allah and seeing His noble countenance, as He states: "Some faces, that Day, will be radiant, looking at their Lord," and "For those who have done good is the best [reward] and extra." Paradise is a comprehensive name for every form of bliss, the highest of which is gazing upon the Face of Allah.
