How can we reconcile God's choice of Moses for messages and speech with God's speech to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him?

The verse about Allah speaking to Moses (peace be upon him) does not contradict His speaking to our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The two can be reconciled in two ways:

First: The word "people" in the verse refers to the people of Moses' time, not all of humanity. Thus, Allah favored him over them with the message and the ability to speak to Him.

Second: Allah's speaking to Moses occurred on Earth as part of his prophethood, whereas Adam and our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them) were spoken to outside of Earth, and their communication was not related to a prophetic message while they were on Earth.
