Is there a sin incurred by using a computer monitor that was prepared and configured via a device running a pirated operating system and game, knowing that the monitor was later used for other purposes?

Contemporary scholars have differed regarding the validity of software copyrights. The fatwa (religious edict) we adhere to is that they are absolutely valid. Therefore, it is impermissible to use pirated software, even for preparing connections and adjusting settings. Such use must be avoided in the future. As for what has already resulted from its use, there is no sin in that.
