Is taking used books from stores that sell them at a reduced price, then returning them after reading them, considered theft?

It is religiously unlawful to take books for reading without the store owner's permission, and likewise, to use and read what the aunt brings in the same manner. Whoever uses something usurped or stolen, knowing it to be so, is liable for its guarantee. The books must be returned to the store owner. If he demands a reading fee or compensation for any damage or defect, it must be paid to him. This is coupled with the obligation to offer sincere repentance to Allah and resolve never to repeat such an act. The aunt must be advised, and the books she possesses must be returned to their owners.
