Slaughtering a sheep in this manner, where the trachea, esophagus, and part of the jugular veins are cut, is sufficient for its lawfulness, either by consensus or according to the preponderant opinion. Some jurists do not stipulate cutting the jugular veins completely. Furthermore, lifting the hand during slaughter does not cause harm if the process is completed immediately, unless lifting the hand occurs after severing some vital organs with a delay that causes the animal to revert to the movements of a slaughtered animal.
