What is your opinion on the books of Imam Al-Ghazali?

Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali is one of the scholars and jurists of Islam, but he is also one of the prominent figures of the Ash'aris and a leader among the Sufis, a master of philosophy and logic. His works contain both beneficial and non-beneficial elements, encompassing both the substantial and the insubstantial.

Scholars have mentioned that his books contain anomalies and "afflictions that cannot be cured," and that Ihya' Ulum al-Din (The Revival of the Religious Sciences) contains false hadiths.

However, a Muslim should benefit from his books in jurisprudence (fiqh) and legal theory (usul), and disregard what deviates from the truth, for wisdom is the believer's lost property.
