Is the wife sinful if her family forced her into marriage, and she asked her husband for divorce due to her inability to continue living with him in matrimony?

Building a marital life must be based on sound foundations. The Shari'ah has granted women the right to accept or refuse marriage, and it is not permissible to force her into it as long as she is an adult and mature. If a wife is harmed by her husband, she has the right to seek divorce or annulment (khul'), but one should not rush into that. The husband can be advised to seek treatment if he suffers from erectile dysfunction, and abandonment should be avoided if he is the oppressor.
