Does repeatedly swearing to abandon a sin by reading a different surah each time, and then committing the sin without reading the surah, necessitate a new expiation for each oath?

Frequent swearing is religiously reproachable and is not the means to abandon sin; rather, it is sincere repentance and a firm resolve not to return to it. Whoever swears an oath multiple times concerning something and breaks each oath before swearing the next, owes a separate expiation for each broken oath. It does not matter whether the subject of the oath is the same surah or different surahs. If the oath is repeated before the breaking of the oath occurs, then only one expiation is required for the affirmation of the oath. Breaking an oath made to cease from sin is a doubled sin, because it involves committing a forbidden act and breaking an oath.
