Is "the Light" among the Most Beautiful Names of Allah, and what is the ruling on naming oneself "Abd al-Noor" (Servant of the Light)?

Scholars have differed regarding the name (An-Noor - The Light) whether it is among the Beautiful Names of Allah. One group held that it is among the Beautiful Names, citing the verse: (Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth). Others held that it is not among the Beautiful Names because Allah's names are Tawqifi (revealed and not subject to human reasoning), and this has not been authentically established. Still others are of the view that it was mentioned in an annexed form, such as (Light of the heavens and the earth), but "Noor" alone was not mentioned. Based on this, it is not appropriate to be named (Abd An-Noor - Servant of the Light). However, for those who were named this previously, it is not obligatory for them to change it, because the intention behind it is servitude to Allah, and considering "An-Noor" to be one of His names has a strong basis.
