Abandoning Jumu'ah (Friday prayer) for one upon whom it is obligatory, without a valid excuse, is a grave sin. And whoever neglects three Jumu'ahs out of heedlessness, Allah will seal his heart, and he will be among the negligent. This is a spiritual punishment more severe than any physical punishment. It is incumbent upon the ruler to punish those who fail to attend without a valid excuse, with a punishment that serves as a deterrent.
