Should someone entering the mosque while the Imam is bowing join the row and then bow, or should he wait until he reaches the row and then bow?

Scholars differ regarding someone who enters the mosque while the Imam is bowing (in ruku') and fears missing the rak'ah: should he pronounce the takbirat al-ihram and bow before joining the row, or should he wait until he joins the row? There are three views on this: 1. Disliked (Makruh): This is the view of the Hanafi and Shafi'i schools. 2. Permissible (Ja'iz): This is the view of the Maliki and Hanbali schools. 3. Forbidden (Haraam): This is a narration from Ahmad, and the view of Ishaq and some modern Shafi'i scholars.

The first view is the strongest in terms of evidence, based on the hadith of Abu Bakra, may Allah be pleased with him: "May Allah increase your eagerness, but do not repeat [what you did]." Its meaning is: do not repeat what you did, which was rushing intensely and bowing without being in the row, and then walking [to join it].
