How sound is the story of Abu Jahl and Al-Irashi, whom the Prophet helped to regain his rights, and how sound is the account of Abu Jahl seeing a camel stallion above his head or men with spears when he opened the door for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?

This story is not authentically attributed due to a break in its chain of narration (isnaad), and no reliable documentation has been found for its narrator, Abd al-Malik ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Sufyan al-Thaqafi. However, there is no harm in mentioning and narrating it in the context of battles (maghazi) and biographies (siyar) due to its fame, and because it does not contain any objectionable matters concerning creed or aberrant rulings.
