Is it permissible to read from books displayed for sale in a bookstore?

It is permissible for the owner to read the books he displays for sale, as long as it does not result in the book becoming used. If it does, then he must inform the buyer. As for the employee, it is not permissible for him to read except for a very small amount that does not affect the newness of the books.
