When is the Istikhara supplication recited: after the tashahhud or after the salutation of the prayer?

The majority of scholars hold that the supplication for Istikhara (guidance-seeking prayer) should be made after completing the prayer and giving the salutations. This aligns with the noble Hadith, as indicated by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "If any one of you is concerned about a matter, he should pray two rak'ahs other than the obligatory prayer, then say: 'O Allah, I seek Your guidance by Your knowledge...'"
