What is the meaning of the verse: "The fornicator does not marry except a [female] fornicator or polytheist, and none marries the fornicator except a [male] fornicator or a polytheist, and that has been made unlawful for the believers"? And is the fornicator mentioned here one who committed fornication once, or one who persisted in fornication and then repented? And what is meant by the Hadith: "Whoever commits fornication will have it committed against him, even if it be within the wall of his own house"?

The fornicator intended in the verse is one who is known for fornication and has not shown repentance. As for one who has repented, the threat does not include him, because repentance erases what came before it. As for the hadith, "Whoever commits fornication will have fornication committed against him, even if with the walls of his house," and the hadith, "No servant ever committed fornication and persisted in it except that he was afflicted in his family," neither of them is authentic, and Al-Albani ruled them to be fabricated. Even if they were authentic, the meaning of the second would be that whoever repeats fornication will be punished through his family.
