When Iblis refused to prostrate before Adam, Allah expelled him from heaven and cursed him until the Day of Resurrection. Iblis then requested a respite until the Day of Resurrection, and Allah granted it to him. Iblis rebelled and vowed to mislead the children of Adam, and Allah permitted him to do so, but clarified that he has no authority over Allah's sincere servants. Satan declared his enmity towards the children of Adam by beautifying sins and forbidden acts, causing many to fall into disbelief and immoralities. Allah has warned us against following the footsteps of Satan, and explained that whoever turns away from Allah will be taken over by Satan and will lose both their worldly life and the hereafter. Satan tempted Adam and Eve, causing them to be expelled from Paradise, which is why Allah commanded us to take him as an enemy and seek refuge in Allah from him. On the Day of Resurrection, Satan will admit that he was a liar, and that the blame lies with those who followed him.
