What should I do about my older brother who makes phone calls with a foreign woman from my house, so that God does not hold me accountable for my silence, considering that he lives with me and has no other place, and I fear that he will get angry and leave the house if I forbid him?

It is advisable to balance maintaining ties with your brother and not assisting him in sin. The following can be done:

1. Continuously advise him and remind him of Allah and the consequences of sin.

2. Seek help from righteous and virtuous people who have a standing with him to advise him.

3. Show your disapproval of his actions without violence or harshness, bearing in mind that he is the elder brother.

4. Increase your supplications for him in his absence.
