Is imposing the custom of wearing the hijab in front of the husband's father or other women considered an overstepping of Allah's ruling on the permissibility of uncovering the hair, face, neck, and hands in front of mahrams and women? And is the one who imposes it sinful, or the one who disobeys it?

The fiancée is a stranger to her suitor and his father, and she is required to wear hijab (definition). However, it is permissible for the suitor to see her face and hands during the engagement. After the marriage contract, the husband is permitted to see everything of her. The husband's father becomes a mahram (definition) to her, and she is allowed to uncover what typically appears in front of her mahrams, such as her hair, face, forearms, and feet, in accordance with the verse: ﴿And not expose their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husbands’ fathers﴾. The extent of what may be uncovered to mahrams varies among them, and modesty and covering the hair, forearms, and shins from mahrams is better and more cautious. If custom dictates not uncovering the hair in front of the husband's father, then this custom should be observed as long as it does not involve committing something unlawful.
