If she travels a journey of relocation, then the father has more right to custody. As for temporary travel for a need, it does not forfeit her right to custody; rather, she takes the child with her. Scholars have differed regarding travel for a need: some hold that the child remains with the parent who is a resident, while others hold that the custodian may travel with the child if the travel is safe.
