Does the Prophet’s — may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him — love for something mean that it is Sunnah or desirable, knowing that he is a human being with worldly needs, and that what is desirable is what is done to draw closer to Allah, as Al-Ashqar mentioned in “Al-Wadih”?

The Messenger of Allah's (peace be upon him) love for something could be lawful (obligatory or recommended) or innate. Innate love (such as his love for gourds, sweets, and honey) is neither obligatory nor recommended. However, whoever loves innately what the Messenger loved has attained much good.
