Is the charity placed in a box at home counted on the day it is put in, or on the day the entire box is given out to the poor?

Charity (Sadaqah (definition)) is a proof of the sincerity of the giver's faith. It is not limited to money but encompasses every good deed, including glorifying Allah (Tasbih), declaring His oneness (Tahleel), and enjoining good, as mentioned in the Prophetic traditions.

Regarding a charity box designated for Sadaqah in the home: If it is a shared box where others also deposit money, then the Sadaqah is considered given as soon as the money is placed in it, and the money leaves the possession of its owner. However, if the box is exclusively for the giver, the Sadaqah is not counted until the entitled recipient takes possession of it, and the money remains the property of the giver until it is handed over to the poor.
