Is the statement in the anthem: "And by Allah, even if time erases virtues, I shall remain steadfast alone throughout my life" permissible, knowing that Allah has forbidden cursing time?
The "Son of Adam wrongs Me; he curses Dahr (time), and I am Dahr. In My hand is the command; I alternate the night and the day" means that Allah is the Doer of calamities, and cursing Dahr falls upon Allah. Cursing Dahr is divided into three categories: The first is permissible, which is pure reporting, such as "We are tired from the intense heat of this day." The second is major (polytheism) if one believes that Dahr is the doer. The third is forbidden and does not amount to Shirk if one curses Dahr because it is the locus of a disliked matter, and its reality reverts to Allah. The mentioned anthem is not considered cursing Dahr because it is a report of the determination to remain steadfast on morals and principles, and this meaning is correct. Reporting the corruption of the times is not considered cursing.
