If your work in providing services is a private endeavor for which you do not receive a salary from any entity, then there is no harm in you taking the agreed-upon fee from the service seeker. However, if you do receive a salary for your work, then you must perform it to the best of your ability, and it is not permissible for you to take a fee from the client unless they give you something willingly from their own accord.
