What is the ruling if a ram belonging to one of the two shepherds butts a small ewe belonging to the other shepherd, and it dies?

"The transgression of animals against other animals or humans is without liability, unless the animal is under the control of its owner, or with him, whether he is riding it, driving it, or leading it. This is supported by the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "The 'Ajma' (animal) is Jubar." The meaning of "Jubar" is that it is without liability and no compensation is required for it. So, if an animal causes damage in the absence of its owner or without his negligence, there is no guarantee for it. However, if it is accompanied by a driver, a leader, or a rider, and it causes damage, then the one who was with it is liable. And if it causes harm to a human, the blood money is incumbent upon the 'Aqilah (male relatives on the father's side) and expiation is due from the owner's wealth."
