ما هو اسم كسوة الكعبة، وهل هو "ريتاج"؟

It is not known what benefit there is in naming the Kaaba's garments as 'ritaj'. Rather, what is meant by "Ritaj al-Kaaba" is its door, which is derived from "irtaja al-bab" meaning to close it. What is intended by it in the hadith narrated by Aisha, concerning a man who asked: "What is for me in Ritaj al-Kaaba?" and she replied: "What expiates an oath expiates it"; is the Kaaba itself, named as such because one enters and exits through it.
