Is it permissible to kiss one's wife and seclude oneself with her after the marriage contract but before the official wedding, despite a stipulation against seclusion? And is it permissible to change the agreed-upon dowry if it was for Sharia education and a niqab garment, and these could not be fulfilled due to unforeseen circumstances?

After the marriage contract, it becomes permissible for the husband to enjoy his wife. However, it has become customary that cohabitation (consummation) only occurs after the wedding ceremony. This custom does not contradict Islamic law. This custom should be observed, especially if it was stipulated at the time of the contract, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The most deserving of conditions to be fulfilled are those by which you make intimacy lawful."

Scholars have differed on the obligation to fulfill this condition. The majority of scholars consider it recommended, while the Hanbalis consider it obligatory. The preponderant view is that the husband does not sin, according to the majority of scholars.

It is permissible for the wife's dowry to be the teaching of the Quran and Islamic knowledge. If what they agreed upon cannot be fulfilled, then the woman is entitled to a dowry equivalent to that of women of her status (Mahr al-Mithl). It is also permissible for her to waive all or part of the dowry.
