What is the text of the Qudsi Hadith that I heard about Omar (may Allah be pleased with him), in which Allah is shy to punish one who has grown old in Islam, and what is the book in which it is mentioned?
We did not find a narration with this precise wording, but there are some reports in some narrations that are close in meaning to it, such as the narration: "Indeed, Allah is too modest to punish a grey-haired man in Islam," then the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, wept. And another narration: "Indeed, I am too modest before My male and female servant who grow old in Islam, then I punish them." And it also came: "Indeed, Allah is too modest to punish grey hair that has grown in Islam." And another wording: "Indeed, Allah is too modest before His male and female servant who grow old in Islam to punish them." And another wording: "Indeed, Allah Almighty is too modest before the grey-haired man, if he is upright and generous to the , that he should ask Him and He not give him." This is the sum of what we found regarding what has been reported with this meaning.
