Is the niqab obligatory for women despite the hardship it causes them, and is removing it considered a cause of Allah's wrath and entry into Hellfire?

A woman must cover her face in front of non-mahram (definition) men with a niqab or other covering. The assertion that the niqab inconveniences women is not acceptable. For she who finds comfort in covering her face, that is due to her obedience and chastity. As for she who is harmed by wearing it to an unbearable extent, she may leave it off during the times she is harmed, and necessities are assessed in proportion to their measure. Abandoning an obligation angers Allah and can be a cause for entering Hellfire.
