Is it permissible for a man who converts to Islam to then ask permission from Prophet Elijah when cutting down trees for use in healing?

If a Muslim wishes to cut down a permissible tree or plant for his use, he may do so, and it is not prescribed for him to offer salaam or seek permission from Elijah (Ilyas) or any other prophet, as this is a superstition.
