How authentic is the attribution of the book "Nahj al-Balagha" to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and what is the scholars' opinion on it?

The attribution of what is contained in the book "Nahj al-Balagha" to Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, is not authentic. Rather, it is from the words of its compiler, Al-Sharif Al-Murtada. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah pointed out that most of the speeches in this book are fabricated and falsely attributed to Ali, and that they are not found in earlier books nor do they have a known chain of transmission. He emphasized that a mere claim is not sufficient to prove the authenticity of a narration unless it is established with a sound chain of transmission.
