ما هو حكم المال المختلط؟

Whoever possesses mixed wealth, from both lawful (halal) and unlawful (haram) sources, must separate the unlawful portion if it is distinguishable. Otherwise, they must investigate and extract what they believe to be the unlawful amount to return it to its rightful owners. If the owners of the unlawful wealth are unknown, then one must give it away in charity (sadaqah) with the intention that the reward for it goes to them.
