What should someone do who has experienced something necessitating a major ritual ablution (ghusl), but cannot perform ghusl, nor can they find earth for tayammum for prayer, and they are pursued by whispers of showing off?

If semen is discharged and a Muslim finds neither water nor earth, he is considered to have lost both means of purification (water for ghusl (definition) and earth for tayammum (definition)). In this case, he must pray according to his condition, and he is not required to repeat the prayer. However, if he repeats it as a precaution, it is better. Some scholars are of the opinion that prayer in this situation is not obligatory, or that it is obligatory with the obligation of making it up later. The correct view is that the prayer is obligatory and there is no need to repeat it. As for the whispers of showing off (riya'), one must repel them and not abandon acts of obedience because of them, while striving for sincerity in all deeds.
