Will the angels be questioned on the Day of Resurrection, and about what will they be questioned?

There is no authentic report about angels being questioned on the Day of Judgment. This is from the Unseen, about which opinions cannot be offered. It has been mentioned in some books that do not adhere to the authenticity of transmission that angels will be questioned about the messages they were commanded to convey. It was narrated from Wahib ibn al-Ward that Israfil will be questioned about what the Preserved Tablet conveyed to him, and he will say: "I conveyed it to Jibril." Then Jibril will be called and questioned about what Israfil conveyed to him, and he will say: "I conveyed it to the messengers." Then the messengers will be called and questioned about what Jibril conveyed to them, and they will say: "We conveyed it to the people." This is the meaning of the Almighty's saying: "Then We will surely question those to whom [messengers] were sent, and We will surely question the messengers."
