Is a husband who completely ignores his wife during a dispute and does not speak to her sinful?

Allah Almighty has made it obligatory for a man to treat his wife with kindness, and this includes listening to her and discussing matters with her, especially during disagreements. It is not permissible for a husband to ignore his wife during a dispute or to abandon her without a legitimate religious reason. Some may prefer silence or leaving the place when angry, fearing they might utter words they would regret. In such cases, silence is better until the surge of anger subsides. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If you get angry, be silent." Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, became angry with Fatimah, and he left the house. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, found him in the mosque, wiped the dust off him, and said, "Arise, O Abu Turab (Father of Dust)." This indicates the permissibility for people of virtue to leave the home when angry, fearing that something inappropriate might emanate from them.
