What is the ruling on a husband forcing his wife to swear, "If I do such and such, I will not enter Paradise"?

Both the husband who asks his wife to swear by such a matter and the wife who obeys him must repent to Allah Almighty. Such words are not permissible and do not constitute an oath. The only legitimate oath is by Allah Almighty, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever takes an oath, let him swear by Allah or keep silent."
