What is the Sharia treatment for the illness "al-taqf" that afflicted a woman who has not been blessed with a child for two years, after a fortune-teller diagnosed it?
Your mother's action of going to the fortune-teller is wrong and forbidden, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever comes to a soothsayer or a fortune-teller and believes what he says, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad." The fortune-teller's diagnosis of illness is unreliable. It is incumbent upon one whose pregnancy is delayed to pursue material means of treatment through doctors, while persistently supplicating. She should not let the delay in healing lead her to commit what Allah has forbidden, for the absence of children does not alarm a believer, as this world is a realm of trial.
