Is the title "Ahl al-Bayt (People of the House) of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him" restricted to Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn only, or does it extend to include their descendants and generations from their lineage, and is it true that whoever is called a "Sayyid" is necessarily from Ahl al-Bayt?

The gist of the Fatwa (definition): The title "Ahl al-Bayt" (People of the House) is applied to the progeny of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in every time and place, even if their lineage is distant.

The title "Ahl al-Bayt" has several applications in Islamic law: 1. It is applied to those for whom zakat (definition) is forbidden: the family of Ali, the family of Ja'far, the family of Aqil, the family of Abbas, and the rest of Banu Hashim and Banu Al-Muttalib. 2. It is applied to his immediate household, such as his wives and daughters. 3. It is applied more specifically to the People of the Cloak, who are Ali, Fatimah, Hasan (definition), and Husayn. 4. The term "Ahl" (family/people) is also applied to followers, so "Ahl al-Nabi" can refer to his followers. By this application, all believers in him, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, are included.
