What is the ruling on designing images of animate beings using Photoshop, and is watching animated films forbidden, and what is the ruling on uploading personal photos to the internet?

If animated cartoons are free from Sharia prohibitions, then it is permissible to watch them. The ruling for the viewer differs from the ruling for the one who created the image. As for images captured by a machine (camera), the preponderant opinion is that they are permissible unless something arises that prohibits them, such as revealing 'awrat (private parts) or being for the purpose of veneration.
