Are the Prophet's parents — may Allah bless him and grant him peace — in Hellfire?

The text of the hadith indicates that the Prophet's father and his father are in the Fire. When the Prophet was asked about his father, he said: "In the Fire." And when the man returned, he said: "Indeed, my father and your father are in the Fire." The Prophet also visited his mother's grave and sought his Lord's permission to ask for forgiveness for her, but he was not granted permission. So, he forbade seeking forgiveness for idolaters (mushrikīn). Ibn Kathir mentioned that the Prophet's informing that his parents and grandfather are among the people of the Fire does not contradict the trial of the Ahl al-Fatrah on the Day of Resurrection.
