Brokerage is permissible in principle, and it falls under the category of a permissible commission (ju'alah). Its fee is due to whoever performs the work and effort, because the commission is only deserved by one who carries out the work for which the commission was made. Therefore, the person who introduced you to the marketer is not entitled to anything in the second sale as long as he did not work or exert effort in it.
