It is recommended to perfume the entire body of the deceased. Al-Shafi'i, Al-Mardawi, and Ibn Uthaymeen considered it good, and some Companions did it. Care should be taken to use a cool perfume that does not harm the body. If perfume is scarce, it should be placed on the most honorable parts (the places of prostration) and the areas prone to foul odor, such as the armpits and the creases of the knees.
