Is "Al-Fatawa al-Alamkiriyah" a suitable book for learning Hanafi fiqh, and what are the other reliable books in this school of thought?

"Al-Fatawa al-'Alamkiriyyah" or "Al-Fatawa al-Hindiyyah" is a jurisprudential book arranged according to the chapters of fiqh. Its authors confined themselves to the preponderant and relied-upon narrations within the Hanafi school, while also pointing out conflicting fatwas. Despite its academic value, it is not suitable for beginners in seeking knowledge due to its length; concise books are preferable for the novice.

As for the relied-upon jurisprudential texts (mutūn) in the Hanafi school, they are four: "Majma' al-Bahrayn," "Kanz al-Daqā'iq," "Wiqaayat al-Riwayah," and "Al-Mukhtār lil-Fatwā," to which "Mukhtasar al-Quduri" is added.

A student of knowledge is advised to begin with "Mukhtasar al-Quduri" along with its commentary "Al-Lubāb fī Sharh al-Kitāb" by Abd al-Ghani al-Ghunaymi al-Maydani, or with the text "Al-Mukhtār lil-Fatwā" by al-Mawsili along with its commentary "Al-Ikhtiyār li-Ta'līl al-Mukhtār," due to their simple expressions, moderate size, and the extensive commentaries and verifications available for them.
