Is it permissible to recite chapters from the Quran, such as An-Nur and Ash-Shams, for seven days, along with supplication, in order to see the deceased in a dream? And is what occurred—seeing the mother in a dream immediately after supplicating for her—permissible?

It is permissible to ask Allah to see a person in a dream, and there is no blame on someone who is overwhelmed by longing for a loved one, so they recall their image and address them with permissible words. However, supplicating the dead or the absent and asking them to fulfill a need is not permissible.

There is no evidence for the permissibility of reciting specific surahs or verses to see a deceased person. Designating verses for a specific need without evidence is an innovation (bid'ah), except for legitimate ruqyah (incantation) based on experience.
