What is the ruling on the salary of an Imam who does not deliver all of his scheduled lessons for fear of boring the people? Is it permissible for him to deliver lessons in another mosque, which would result in abandoning the mosque where he is the Imam? What is the ruling on his allowing others to lead some prayers? And what is the ruling on his leaving the mosque to visit the sick and help the needy?

If the hiring entity stipulates giving five lessons per week, it is not permissible to reduce them without their permission, and they must be informed of the reasons and consulted. It is not permissible to entrust the imamate to someone not appointed by the responsible authority without their permission, because the regular Imam has a greater right to lead the prayer. As for visiting the sick and maintaining kinship ties outside of working hours and without affecting work, it is permissible, unless the contract stipulates the necessity of remaining in the mosque at all times.
