Will he who commits one of the seven heinous sins abide eternally in the fire of Hell, and will his repentance be accepted, especially since the usurer is described in the Quran as abiding eternally in the Fire?

The polytheism that expels one from the faith necessitates eternal damnation in Hellfire if its perpetrator dies upon it, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire.﴾ [Al-Ma'idah: 72]. As for sorcery, a group of scholars has deemed its perpetrator a disbeliever, while others have given a detailed explanation regarding it. Major sins and destructive acts do not necessitate eternal damnation in Hellfire. The eternity mentioned in the verse about usury is interpreted as referring to one who disbelieves by deeming usury permissible, or as referring to a long stay, not eternal damnation; this is due to the narrations about monotheists exiting the Fire. Repentance is accepted from disbelievers and others alike.
