What is the ruling on saying "it's not a loss for his Lord" upon someone's death?

When faced with calamities, a believer must be patient, and it is forbidden for him to despair. Allah has praised the patient and prepared for them a great reward. The difference between patience (sabr) and contentment (rida) is that patience is restraining oneself from complaining despite feeling pain and wishing for its removal. As for contentment, it is the heart's embrace of the divine decree and abandoning the wish for the removal of what is painful. Among the prescribed courtesies upon the onset of tribulation is to praise Allah and recite the Istirja', as in His saying: ﴿Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.﴾ As for the saying "It's not a loss for God" when losing a dear one, it is an ugly and detestable phrase, because Allah is free of need from all creation, and no one can bestow favor upon Him. Allah is the Sovereign of all things and does what He wills.
