Must I repeat the prayers of the past five years, knowing that I was addicted to pornography and used to perform the obligatory prayers, but I was ignorant of the rulings of purity, so I would perform ablution and pray after every sin?
Muslim men and women must lower their gaze from what Allah has forbidden and sincerely repent from watching pornography. If no madhiy (pre-seminal fluid) is discharged after watching them, then the previous ablution remains valid, and your prayers are sound. However, if it is discharged, then ablution is required, and the madhiy must be cleansed. Prayers offered while ignorant of the impurity of madhiy are valid. If maniy (seminal fluid) is discharged, then a (ritual bath) is required, and the missed prayers must be made up according to the majority of scholars, or making them up is not obligatory according to the view of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah.
