Is reciting Al-Fatiha sufficient for a girl to become a man’s wife, given that her family approved of him on her behalf despite her refusal, and if not, and the marriage takes place in a lawful manner, is the marriage valid without her consent?

The recitation of Al-Fatiha during the engagement does not constitute a legal marriage unless the legitimate contract is concluded with offer and acceptance and the presence of witnesses. If a girl is forced to marry someone she does not desire, the validity of the marriage depends on her consent, and she has the right to refuse this marriage. Although it is common for parents to be keen on their daughters' well-being, if the girl accepts the one her parents have chosen, it is good and considered an act of filial piety. However, if she feels an aversion and fears that the marital relationship will not last, she has the right to refuse.
